James Solano aka Big Thumps aka Thumpee aka Thumpster aka Solano is a self taught Los Angeles based photographer who has been shooting away, developing his own film & printing in his own garage/darkroom for roughly 10 years.

Solano has no art degrees, no art school education, no type of apprenticeship training & he prefers to keep it that way. Just because you got a fancy degree doesn't mean you got talent.

He has a love/RAGING HATE relationship with digital photography so he prefers shooting with film... he can’t understand the logic in shooting 500+ images of the same subject, and with the influx of "glitz & glam" photographers that have oversaturated the photography “scene” over the years Solano has decided to take a minimalistic DIY approach when it comes to his photography.

From shooting in rent-by-the-hour seedy motels, flop houses, Downtown alleyways & neighborhoods of East Los his work is a definite FUCK YOU to the everyday norm.
